Intuitive Massage

60 minutes: $99
75 minutes: $120
90 minutes: $129

This massage is focused on releasing "stuck" energy pertaining to anxiety caused by emotional stress, trauma, and a high demanding lifestyle.  If you have experienced emotional abuse, psychological abuse and physical abuse, please reach out to a professional which I can provide upon request.  I am not here to fix, or treat you.  Because there is absolutely nothing wrong with you.  I am here to help move energy out and around  your body.  With the use of acupressure points, essential oils, and positive affirmations, incorporated into my massage, I am able to assist with opening energy blockages that might be hindering the flow along your meridians.  Meridians allow for the flow of energy known as Qi (pronounced "chee"), to circulate throughout the body.

By opening up blockages, you may experience an emotional release.   This may look different for everyone, and it is normal.  So not to worry if this happens, simply allow your self to live in that experience as it flows in and out of you.  I will be here the whole time to guide you.  Your well-being is important to me, communicate if at any point the session becomes too heavy.  I can stop the massage at anytime.

Swedish + Deep Tissue Massage

60 minutes: $99
75 minutes: $120
90 minutes: $150

Swedish Massage is most common type of massage you can get.  It is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be consumed to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.  Deep tissue is normally combined with Swedish massage with deeper strokes or more pressure and the focus is slow movements strokes in order to get into the deepest layer of the muscle and fascia (connective tissue that surrounds the muscles).

Chair Massage

20 minutes: $33
30 minutes: $44

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.

This service is only available for corporate events or special events.  Kindly contact me for more information.  Thank you.

Pregnancy Massage

60 minutes: $99

Welcome to the Pregnancy Massage section of my website! In a series of studies, Prenatal Massage was shown to reduce leg and back pain, decrease depression and anxiety. The participants also had shorter labors with less pain and need for medication (You can nerd out here if you want to read more) Pregnancy Massage is appropriate for just about everyone as they go through the pregnancy year, but I have a form that explains the risks and benefits that I ask clients to read and sign before your appointment, available here. If you have any health concerns, you can use this form to talk to your midwife or doctor before your appointment.

Massage during the First Trimester...

is almost exactly the same as massage that you would get if you were not pregnant. You can get massage lying face-up, facedown, or on your side, comfortably supported by cushions. The main practical differences are that I avoid working on areas of your body that have points in them that are believed to cause contractions and avoid any rhythmic movements that might exacerbate nausea. You may feel extra tired during this stage and massage can be relaxing and energizing. If you have a normal pattern of tension showing up in your body, this can be a great time to address it so it doesn't deepen later in pregnancy.

The Second Trimester...

is when the structural changes of the growing baby can start to cause pain and strain as your center of gravity shifts and your joints and muscles start to compensate, especially in your back, shoulders, neck, hips and ribcage. Sometimes as the ribcage tightens, your breath might start to feel restricted. In massage, we can work on these muscles directly so you feel less out of breath. You can get massage lying on your side, comfortably supported by cushions, in a seated position, or semi reclining (lounge-chair position), supported by cushions.

In The Third Trimester...

your center of gravity inches even farther forward, and this sets off a cascade of musculoskeletal compensation:

  • Pelvis tips

  • The low back scrunches short

  • Hip and butt muscles clench up to hold you upright

  • The ribcage gets tight, which can constrict breathing

  • Often our heads pull forward creating neck strain

These postural changes are temporary adaptations, but when these muscles don't get a chance to relax over the course of weeks, they get sore and strained, which can make it can be hard to sit, stand and sleep, as well as causing headaches, back and hip pain. Side-sleeping can also be hard on your hips, shoulders and neck, making it hard to get enough rest. Massage can reduce the muscle strain and help your muscles feel stronger, nimbler and more pliable so you can have an easier time with sleep, exercise and labor.

Postpartum...

massage can be much harder to schedule, but can be super beneficial! Your body and your life undergoes the rapid changes and recovers from birth while also having a new baby in your family. Massage can help facilitate your healing, support your emotional health, help you feel grounded in your body.

Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.
